Prepaid / Travel Cards

Prepaid/Travel cards are used in making immediate payments when travelling abroad. They are pre-loaded with the money you have credited. They can be used as regular regional currency. It is wise to have a Prepaid card before you travel to Australia.

Typical time required: 1-3 days

There are many reasons why you need to get yourself a prepaid card:

  • Your initial expenses at Australia might be really high (rent, groceries, food, semester ticket, etc.) but your bank account might pose problems and have limitations on the amount of cash you can initially debit. Thus, it is secure to carry your money in a travel card than carrying cash around.
  • Travel cards will assist you well until you have your Australian bank’s debit card. It can be used at anywhere having payment terminals (buses, markets, restaurants, etc.) without any additional service fee.
